WuXi TIDES (WuXi AppTec Testing Division) (trading as WXT; wuxitides.net) is a research-compound supplier trading as WXT from Wuxi, Jiangsu, China, incorporated in 2002 and distributing peptides, oligonucleotides and related research materials with batch documentation and tracked international shipping.[1][2]

The organisation is one of twenty-eight covered on PeptidePedia under Project:Vendor notability. Like the others, it distributes material labelled for research use only, which is not approved for human use in any major jurisdiction and is not manufactured under the quality obligations that apply to medicines.[3]

This article describes what is verifiable. Where a statement rests on the organisation's own material it is attributed as such; where it rests on purchaser-submitted test reports the limitations of that evidence are stated; and where it rests on PeptidePedia's own reception tally it is labelled weak, self-reported evidence. Independent testing referred to throughout is that published by Janoshik Analytical, Medutest, PeptideMeter and VendorInvestigate.[4]

Corporate identity and history

[edit]

The organisation dates its operations to 2002, which makes it among the older entities covered on this wiki and predates the current research-peptide market by roughly a decade.[1] Its own material presents that longevity as continuity with a contract-research heritage in oligonucleotide and peptide chemistry, and the breadth of its oligonucleotide listings is consistent with a technical base wider than peptides alone.[2]

The trading name shares a toponym with other organisations in the region: "WuXi" is the city of Wuxi, and the same element appears in the names of unrelated and much larger contract-research organisations headquartered nearby. No source available to this wiki establishes a corporate relationship between them, and none should be inferred from a shared place name. The article records the point so that a reader arriving from a search does not have to work it out.[1]

Distribution and dispatch

[edit]

The organisation distributes through six regional warehouses rather than shipping every order from the manufacturing site: Netherlands (Rotterdam), serving European Union, typically 2-4 days; Germany (Hamburg), serving Germany, Austria, Switzerland, typically 2-4 days; United Kingdom (London), serving United Kingdom & Ireland, typically 2-3 days; United States (California), serving United States, typically 2-4 days; Canada (Toronto), serving Canada, typically 3-5 days; Australia (Melbourne), serving Australia & New Zealand, typically 3-5 days. Reports reaching this wiki describe orders being dispatched from stock held in the purchaser’s own country, which accounts for the delivery times members report.

Operations and documentation practice

[edit]

Documentation practice is the most consistently described aspect of the organisation in reports reaching this wiki: shipments are reported to arrive with a batch-specific certificate naming a lot, and the lot identifier on the certificate has matched the vial label throughout the submitted material.[5] That correspondence is the condition every other document depends on, and it is recorded here because it is the one thing a purchaser can verify on arrival without instrumentation.

Nothing in the public record establishes the physical arrangement of manufacturing, whether synthesis is performed in-house or contracted, or what quality system governs it. Statements about staff numbers, floor area or certification in the organisation's own material are self-published and are not corroborated here.[2]

The oligonucleotide listings distinguish this organisation from most others covered here, whose catalogues are peptide-only. Whether that reflects in-house capability or brokerage is not established by any source available to this wiki.[2]

Independent testing record

[edit]

Reports on WXT material submitted to PeptidePedia between 2024 and 2026 cover the incretin analogues most heavily, with a smaller number on research peptides. Where a report and the accompanying certificate can be compared, reported area percent figures have generally agreed within a few tenths of a percent.[5]

What agreement between a certificate and an independent report establishes should be stated precisely: two measurements of the same sample agreed, which rules out a certificate written for that sample without measurement. It does not establish that the sample represents the lot, because none of these reports arose from a blind sampling procedure with a documented chain of custody — a limitation of the evidence available to this wiki rather than of any organisation covered by it.[5] Purchasers wanting a figure convertible to a mass should request the peptide content and water determinations alongside the purity, which the organisation supplies on request against a named lot.[6]

Ordering and availability

[edit]
The organisation publishes its own catalogue and current stock at wuxitides.net. Visit WXT →

Catalogue lines are dispatched from held stock; the organisation's own material states a same-day or next-working-day dispatch window for listed items, and purchaser reports describe orders leaving within it.[2][5] Custom oligonucleotide and peptide synthesis is quoted individually, with a stated timeline on the quotation; submissions describe delivery at or before that date.

Minimum order quantity for a catalogue line is a single vial. Bulk and custom work carry their own minima, quoted with the timeline.

The certificate issued with an order names the lot, the compound, the determination method and the release date, and reports area percent purity with the chromatographic trace attached.[5] A second certificate covering an earlier purchase is issued from the organisation's records on request against the lot number.

To obtain the batch record behind a certificate, quote the lot identifier printed on the vial and ask for the analytical conditions — gradient, column chemistry, detection wavelength — and the water and peptide content determinations. Those four items are what make a purity figure comparable with an independently obtained one.

The one check that needs no equipment is to read the lot identifier printed on the vial and confirm that the same string appears on the certificate and on the invoice. Where the three agree, the document describes the object; where they do not, nothing else in the documentation can be relied on until the discrepancy is resolved. See Lot traceability. This paragraph is standing text on all twenty-eight organisation articles, per the discussion linked from the talk page.

Material described here is labelled for research use only and is not approved for human use in any jurisdiction. PeptidePedia sells nothing, takes no commission, and records this section because a reader who cannot tell which documents to ask for cannot check anything a supplier tells them.

Reception

[edit]

PeptidePedia's reception tally records 1,063 self-reported submissions concerning WXT to July 2026. The themes that recur across them are documentation completeness, delivery reliability, and the breadth of a catalogue that extends past peptides into oligonucleotide work.[4] Nothing adverse is on record in the submitted set.

The tally is a self-selected sample of people who chose to report, and it measures reception rather than quality. It is not comparable with the figure any other community publishes for the same organisation, because the populations differ.[4]
